Agapius of Hierapolis

Agapius of Hierapolis

Agapius of Hierapolis (10th century) was a Melkite Christian bishop and historian best known for his universal chronicle written in Arabic. His work, commonly known as the Kitāb al-ʿUnwān, traces world history from creation to his own time and preserves valuable information drawn from earlier Greek and Syriac sources, including otherwise lost materials on early Christianity and Late Antiquity.
