Aramean Tribe Bnay Zaman

"Seal of ...'l and Miyâ and Palṭî, men of the king's cohort from the Benê-Zamān, who are pledging a man, Pashâ,... to Šē'-'ušnî, for eight light m(inas) of silver."

The population of Tur Abdin remained predominantly Aramean during centuries. The Bny Zmn, "Sons of Zammān", are mentioned as an ethnic group in an Aramaic inscription from the 7th century B.C., found at Tell Šuyūh Fawqānī, and Bet-Zammāni continued to be used as the name of an Assyrian province.
