Second Patriarchal Visit, Sherbrooke

In the spring of 1971, Patriarch Ignatius Jacob III undertook his second Patriarchal visit to North and South America. After traveling through New England, he visited Sherbrooke and Montreal in Canada. Shown here are photographs of the Patriarch celebrating the Holy Liturgy at St. Ephrem’s in Sherbrooke. Also present were Archbishop Athanasius Yeshue Samuel of the United States and Canada, and Timotheos Aphrem Aboodi, then the Patriarchal Delegate and Apostolic Nuncio to India, who later became Archbishop of Canada in 1996.
