Groundbreaking of the first church in the U.S.A

In 1927, the first Syriac Orthodox church in the United States of America was consecrated in West New York, New Jersey, under the guidance of then Archbishop Mor Severius Aphrem Barsoum. The community then relocated to Paramus, NJ, in the 1960s.
